Cloud Atlas Red Carpet Premiere

Cloud Atlas Movie Poster

I’m still hyped from seeing Denzel Washington last night and I’m thrilled to be in another premiere just 24 hours after! Here we are today at The Grauman’s Chinese Theater for the Red Carpet Premiere of Cloud Atlas.

There’s another premiere simultaneously held at the Arclight Cinemas, it’s called Silent Hill: Revelation 3D. It’s a great movie as well  (I love the video game!) featuring Adelaide Clemens, Carrie Anne Moss and Malcolm McDowell. I chose to go to the Cloud Atlas premiere for obvious reasons: the star power of Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, and Hugh Grant!

Cloud Atlas Premiere

Let’s go spot some movie peeps!

Here’s writer/producer/director of the film, Lana Wachowski!

Lana Wachowski

She and her brother, Andy, are best known for directing The Matrix. They’re more popularly known as the Wachowski Brothers/Wachowski Starship/The Wachowskis. Other films they’re involved at are Bound, Speed Racer, V for Vendetta,  and Ninja Assassin.

You can tell she’s in a very good mood!

Now here’s the other half of The Wachowskis, Andy Wachowski!

I’m sure you know the next one. Academy Award Winning Actress, Susan Sarandon!

Susan Sarandon

It’s funny because while I was taking the picture above, there was this woman behind me who was talking in another language and even if I wasn’t able to understand what she was saying, it was very clear that she was so ecstatic and she mentioned Susan Sarandon’s full name about a hundred times! It’s always nice to know that the tourists are enjoying their time here in Hollywood!

Now here’s Jim Sturgess and his mustache

Keanu Reeves also made an appearance which is a huge surprise because I love the guy and I didn’t expect him to be there! The Wachowskis directed The Matrix series so I guess he’s there to support them. He hasn’t made that much films as of late but he’s working on two new films, Man of Tai Chi an 47 Ronin. I didn’t get to take a picture of him *sigh*, he was too quick to disappear. He still got those The Matrix moves.

Now let’s see the star of the film, the man who needs no introduction, Mr. Tom Hanks!!!

Tom Hanks

He took out his iPhone and decided to take a video of the crowd. Nice. We’re gonna be on Tom Hank’s iPhone haha!

The only disappointment of the night was that there’s no Hugh Grant appearance but to me it’s really not a big deal because after seeing a Tom Hanks and a Susan Sarandon up close, I guarantee that everybody will go home happy! Well, except for the ones who came there just for Hugh Grant but oh well, there’s always a next time for you guys.

Last but not the least is another Academy Award Winning Actress,  Halle Berry!

Halle Berry

And now it’s time for you to see what it feels like to be Halle Berry on the red carpet! Make sure you give your best smile to the cameras, okay?!

Ready?

Halle Berry

Stand up straight, give your best red carpet pose!

Halle Berry

Alright 1…2…3… smile!!!

Halle Berry

Yayyy!!! You sure got it in you! You’re gonna be the next Halle. Halle Tosis.

That’s all folks! See you again on the next premiere!

Slash’s Walk of Fame Induction Ceremony

Slash Walk of Fame Induction

As all of you guys probably know by now, Slash got a star at the Hollywood Walk of Fame just this summer. The ceremony was a bit different from the other ceremonies I’ve been to, one, because there were so many people and majority were wearing black (rock on baby!), and two, because there was a free concert inside the Hard Rock Cafe after the induction (rock on again, baby!).

Being a self confessed Guns N’ Roses addict, this was not just another event to me. This was THE event! Gn’R has played a major part in my life. I looked up to these guys ever since I was a very young boy and I even did a report on my English class about them in college. The Sweet Child O’ Mine intro was one of the very first riffs I tried to play on the guitar (I play it, you hum the bass line!). I have their 1992 Tokyo concert on DVD that I kept watching (have you noticed they kept running and running and didn’t get tired?! Are they athletes or something?!). I tried to emulate Axl Rose‘s moves when we did our gigs (awful, just awful!). I also have all their songs on my iPod and I never get tired listening to them again and again, especially because Gn’R is my workout music. Welcome to The Jungle is ALWAYS the first thing to play as soon as my feet step on the treadmill. I don’t think there’s anybody in this world who would not get pumped up to that song! Then it goes to It’s So Easy to Night Rain to Outta Get Me to Mr. Brownstone  andcso on and ooh yeah I feel it baby I feel it!!! So if there’s anything I could thank them for personally, it will be for providing me my workout enthusiasm!

If you have followed the Gn’R drama then you’re aware about the feud among Axl and Slash and the rest of the band. It’s a long story but to make it simple, wherever there’s a Slash there’s no Axl, and wherever there’s an Axl there’s no Slash. This was a Slash event, so you knew who’s not coming. Somebody with an even bigger ego than Axl was present though, none other than the one with the Adonis DNA, Mr. Tiger Blood himself, Charlie Sheen!

Here’s his hilarious speech:

“You know it’s quite fitting, I think, that Slash is getting a star on the very street that Axl Rose will one day be sleeping on.” -Charlie Sheen

That’s epic. Charlie Sheen rocks!

Slash’s speech was a little more on the emotional side, I think he was trying very hard to keep his tears from flowing the whole time.

Here’s a clip from EyeBiteTV:

Other guest speakers were producer Robert Evans and DJ Jim Ladd. It was amazing to see my idol on that podium. It was also an amazing moment to see Guns N’ Roses, well, at least part of it, together for the first time in person.

Somebody’s really really excited!!! And it so happens to be Charlie!

The star ceremony might have ended there but the event was in no way finished! Live acoustic concert coming up!

I did not bring my DSLR camera for this event, all photos above were taken by my point and shoot cam. It turned out to be a smart idea because if I have brought it then I wouldn’t have been allowed inside!

Slash performed an acoustic set with the man he’s currently collaborating with, Myles Kennedy. He’s the former vocalist of Alter Bridge (they used to be called, uhm, what’s that again, “Creed“, then he replaced Scott Stapp, remember?). He’s also more known to the wrestling world as the guy who sang Edge’s theme song.

Myles Kennedy & Slash

They performed new songs like “Back to Cali” and old hits such as “Fall To Pieces” (from Slash’s Velvet Revolver days) and the eternal “Sweet Child O’ Mine.” Steven Adler even made a special appearance in the middle of a performance asking the crowd to clap altogether to the beat, and the hell we did!

This was yet another day I’ll never forget. To Axl Rose, I don’t know if and when you’ll have a star of your own, but I will see you too someday.  And I will fanboy like crazy. Coz I’m f**king crazy. Crazy! Congratulations to Slash for receiving the 2,473rd Walk of Fame Star!
